Pa Pa Pa Pandaren Style

I was okay with the Panda dance being the Shuffle. It fits the Brewmaster completely as you literally shuffle around all the time anyways. But this.. this is what I wanted the Male Panda dance to be.

I was late to the scene and unaware of Gangnam Style, even Shuffle. I don't pay attention to this stuff. But eventually curiousity got the better of me and I had to find out what this business was and, it's hypnotic. Once you see it, you can't unsee it.. and it doesn't help that it's actually catchy, that's where they get you.

So many cool Necron color schemes.

There were two factors that drew me to choose the Necrons as my army. One would be their common shared ability of Reanimation Protocols, allowing them a chance to come back from the dead. Seeing it in action was what clinched it. I watched  Battle Report of a 1700 point game where the Necron player was able to bring back 460 points worth of models thus making him difficult to kill.
Second, it's the Necrons standard Black and Green color scheme. With my favorite color being green, and with how sweet the black and green look, it was a clear choice for me.

However, you do not have to paint your armies the way the boxes look. Most armies have different divisions and different color schemes or you can just make your own, as long as the units represent the units, the colors do not matter. And this is where I am torn. I have seen several different color choices and this is where I am going to share my options since I just can not decide. Pic heavy post, if you are ready for it, hit the break.

A New Hobby

I think it's about time for another blog post since it has been a while. This time I'm gonna talk about Warhammer 40k. A miniature war game that can e an expensive hobby. A game that I expressed interest in when my group of friends stepped into a Games Workshop. But also a game I purposely set back down and walked away from knowing how expensive it would be to get into.

Fast forward a month and I get a message from one of my friends saying he just ordered the very same Limited Edition Dark Vengeance Starter set that I previously walked away from. My first thoughts was of the scene in The Big Bang Theory when the guys are at the comic shop and they are shown te new Collectors Edition Cowboy Expansion for the Wizards of Ka'ah card game they play. They all start of calling it ridiculous but then Howard wants one, then Raj wants one and then Leonard chimes in with exactly how I felt about what just transpired with Warhammer 40k. "I hate you and I hate myself, I'll take one too."

So thus began a new expensive hobby. So while he waited for his starter set to come in I did research. I checked out the various armies, priced the different kits and found some videos. Still reluctant to start this game it was the videos that pushed me into it. The game looks damn fun but even better it hit my creative side. I'm probably more looking forward to making the battlefields. Either way I was hooked, picking up the monster Rulebook and eventually decided on the Necrons for my starting army.

This weekend I finally picked up some kits and while taking things slowly due to still maintaining World of Warcraft. I spent this weekend leveling my monks Professions to MoP levels from nothing. Back to Necrons, I started with the Deathmark and Lychguard kits. So far I've only glued together the Deathmark kits and am waiting on painting because honestly I can not decide on a color scheme. There are too many good looking options.

Putting the Deathmarks together have been somewhat of a challenge though as they don't have any means of clipping pieces together. The arms join the shoulder via a ball-joint which at first thought was cool. I was all "sweet, that means I can position them anyway I want!".

But soon reality hit and I found that it just made things difficult because things needs to line up perfectly an without some peg to fit them in I meant the parts were loose. So when i'd have the left arm glued to left shoulder and right arm with gun glued to right shoulder, then when I try to attach left wrist to left hand on gun i would need to do so perfectly or else pull the right arm out of the shoulder. Did you follow that? Either way it was frustrating. My buddy had it lucky as his Dark Vengeance set had all its figures fit together with ease.

Next up are the Lychguards and since they will not be wielding a single item with both hands they should be considerably easier. Anyways here are my unpainted Deathmarks so far as well as a funny WH 40k picture I came across.

Everyday I'm Shufflin'

And quite literally as I have been leveling my panda monk. So quite often you'd find me jumping onto some object and /dance. Also the fact that I went Brewmaster I am also constantly shuffling for that extra Parry. There's also the Gift of the Ox passive that drops free healing balls as I do damage. So in those few times where I actually do take damage because Guard isn't up, I am shuffling left and right picking those up.

So how do I like the Monk so far? Well I am loving it, to be more specific, I love the tanking. I knew when I first heard about it that I was going Brewmaster. And leveling as a Brewmaster has been awesome. So much so that when I had intended on Mistweaving through some dungeons while leveling. That just never happened, putting all that caster leather heirloom gear to waste.

Leveling with heirloom is fast, leveling a monk with heirloom is insanely fast. At level 20 when you can get an Enlightenment buff increasing xp gains by 50% for an hour. After a quest at 20 that grants this buff you can do it again as a daily and also getting a new quest every ten levels. There is bug with the buff that refreshes it to 2 hours if you do the quest while you already have the buff. So at one point I had 5 hours of the buff. And trust me it helps. I managed 60-66 in less than 3 hours as well as 80-83 thanks to this buff.

As of late last night I am 85. I would have been there sooner but I took a break the other night. I quickly stepped into Pandaria to get a feel for it and it's going to be a breeze. Mostly due to having crafted Misthide armor to start with and having the Spear of Xuen from Archaeology. Having a weapon with level 90 stats at 85 is awesome.

My Rogue in MoP

I've wanted to talk a lot more about Mists of Pandaria. But the truth of it is, when at computer, I'm going to be playing the game and not doing much else, which includes keeping up this blog.

So let's start from the beginning. I started with my Rogue and progressed rather nicely with her. One thing that was a must was keeping up Recuperate and Slice and Dice at all times meaning using the glyph to refresh them when killing mobs. This allowed me to only need to turn them on once in a blue moon and focus on damaging finishers.

Unfortunately one thing I've noticed as I leveled her up and especially now at 90 doing dailies is that she became more and more energy starved. This is a fact that is coming up around the internetz and something that is difficult to do is avoid comparing them to the Monk. They are both energy users with a point building system. With key differences being that the points are stored on the monk as opposed to on the mobs and that rogues have to spend their energy both on the generators AND the finishers while monks don't have to spend energy on their chi abilities. This makes the monk a more active class as on my Rogue, after the first 8 seconds of a fight, I am just sitting there stabby stabby with my auto attacks while I wait for energy.

I really hope Blizzard does something about this. Initial thoughts are too remove the energy costs on finishers but if you look at the various articles and forum posts on the subject you might find that may make the rogue too OP. Their damage at the moment are through all the various DoTs give them tons of passive damage. While monks rely on the energy free chi moves for their damage.

So this is why they aren't making the Rogues finishers energy free as they generally hit hard. If they did so they'd have to nerf them and/or all the passive damage. One start I think would be okay though is to remove energy costs from the non damaging and utility abilities.

This is just my thoughts on this, I'm no theorycrafter, I just play the game and notice things that work and don't. And simply put something does need to be done about it because I'm getting frustrated with my rogue after the first half of a fight.

Funny how this post turned into what it became, I was only planning on talking about what I have been doing with MoP in general including all my characters. Guess I had to vent/rant about the Rogue energy issue.

EDIT: Here are some links now that I am home that have I guess inspired this post.
Why we are energy starved.

Best In-game gift evaaarr.

To sum up,  my buddy had managed to find a [Teebu's Blazing Longsword] on the Auction House for relatively cheap. I hadn't known about it until he mentioned that he couldn't flip it so he's just gonna keep it for himself. At this point I looked it up and saw with eyes wide and jaw dropped that this would go perfect with the Transmog set I was building. And thus we have the beginning of my incessant nagging for this sword. I gave him a serious offer for it, but then an ongoing joke ensued in which my offers got lower, instead of higher. At one point the offer was to take the item off his hands along with all his gold and his Priest, so I wouldn't have to level one.

Now, I knew he wouldn't give it up, but that didn't mean I wasn't going to stay quiet. So I kept sporadically bringing it up, all the meanwhile constantly checking the AH for another. I couldn't find it, that is for sure since this thing is super rare, but it's perfect for what I was going for. At some point I got his wife to occasionally "push" him to give it to me. Well here we are, the day after my Birthday and guess what, he finally came through, realizing that I seriously want this thing, and maybe a little of wanting the nagging to stop, but mainly just being one of my best friends evar.

So thank you Darraxus, you can trust that this is not going to waste and will be used as much as possible. And sadly even maybe at the cost of an upgrade.

Also: I was showing off this set to his wife in Stormwind on one of the towers in the canal, too in awe of my awesomeness I wasn't watching my step and just walked right off the edge.

MoP Impressions and Goals

First off, I am very impressed. I have enjoyed Mists of Pandaria every moment of the way. It's even inspired several blog ideas that you should hopefully be seeing over the next couple days. Something to be said for that when I've recently become lazy with the blogging.

Questing: Has been enjoyable thanks to the minor storytelling mechanics such as the NPCs being more involved as companions and their various conversations. The addition of a few more cinematics have been a plus as well. However sometimes the quests felt like they lacked flow and were a bit disjointed. If it weren't for the breadcrumb quests and/or the random exclamation mark on the map, I wouldn't have known about a quest hub or two.

Dungeons: I unfortunately can't say too much about dungeons. I have to this point only ran three of the four regular dungeons. I'm not saying I didn't like them, I actually enjoyed them and loved some of the bosses. I just had bad luck with queuing up for them. As dps I had 40 minute waits and by the time the queue popped I was busy with something. I hope to run more soon after I take care of a few things.

Misc: Rare spawns have been one of my favorite things so far. I like what they did with the cooking and have been engrossed with the farming. Damn you FarmVille, errrr, I mean Tillers. Archaeology was good and much easier, I've got all 4 of the Pandaria rares already. And the fact there is no shortage of things to do at level 90, from the Tillers to Cloud Serpents and the Anglers to name a few.

Now that is all said and done lets talk about my goals for Pandaria. I went into with only one goal in mind, to get my Rogue to level 89 for Brewfest. I wanted to run Coren Direbrew for the trinkets and the Bottle Shank, forgetting name. And that goal was achieved Saturday, it would have been done sooner had I not been distracted with Archaeology a few times.

But a new goal has come about when I was looking at the various potential Guild Rewards. I discovered the heirloom Leg pieces are not associated with guild level but with achievement of getting all professions to 600. So that is what I've been working on. Mining and herbalism obviously a cakewalk. Alchemy, Inscription and enchanting got maxed out fairly quick. Once I hit 90 Archaeology was quick to finish. After a bit of fishing last night and some iron paw trade-ins, fishing and cooking got completed. That leaves Tailoring, Leatherworking, Jewelcrafting, Blacksmithing and Engineering. Engineering and Jewelcrafting are almost done. Blacksmithing hasn't even been touched yet. And Leatherworking an Tailoring are sort of at a stand still as I need to do some questing with tho characters to get to the necessary zones for progression.

Once this is done I will likely hit up my Monk depending on where the Guild is at. We are currently at Guild Level 17 but have been making great progress since the guild experience changes. If we are close my next goal before playing the Monk just might be focusing on getting to Guild level 20 for the Head piece heirlooms.

DayZ: Lucky Find

This weekend was mixed. Both DayZ and World of Warcraft was to be had. Let's start with DayZ. Last we left off, we were in the forest North of Cherno. We decided to log in and play with our group of guys. When I log in, some were in Cherno, others were heading toward. Darraxus and I just kept eyes on our guys in town. At one point one of our guys in there tells us he's logging out, he just met a player with an assault rifle that told him to disconnect or die, so he disconnected. Gotta say, that is more than most folks get.

DayZ: I feel cheated.

OK. So Past couple days that I've been playing DayZ has been spent crawling around with a broken leg. Well, I can say that problem has been remedied. After a failed attempt to meet up with a buddy at Kamenka and another south of Stary Sobor, I finally managed to make my way into Cherno and get the Morphine needed.

But Fettsbounty, how is it you feel cheated? Well, I didn't crawl all the way down to Cherno. I logged into a server and it appeared to be hacked. Once loaded in, It gave me the YOU ARE DEAD! screen. But then right after it loaded me into Stary Sobor anyways. Only it was night and I can hear a female character and male character breathing heavy and moaning....

DayZ: Never Give Up

Not that I haven't thought about giving up in my current predicament in DayZ. But when times get tough you have two choices, take the easy route(kill yourself and start over) or push forward. Lets back step a bit and explain. I have been taking chances and hopping on to night games. Often bearing glorious fruit, but followed with disaster. Latest disaster occured when I hit the NW Airfield on a night server. I didn't die by players, but lag and zombies got me. The airfield was a bust, barracks and hangers already looted, so leaving the airfield I must of stepped on a bear trap or something because out of nowhere, I break my leg. That's cool, a bandage and morphine later i'm moving through a town. DISCONNECTED. Right in the middle of the  street. Log back in and i'm automatically running and zombies aggro then knock me unconscious and eat me. I AM DEAD. Which brings me to my latest adventure.

Let's look at what I've done.
  1. Spawned and tried something different, straight North run. Problem is I didn't properly figure out what was where and I ran West and when I hit the end of the map, turned north and tried to run a but North east. The whole time it is raining.
  2. I've got a cold and am losing blood. On top of that I'm getting hungry and thirsty. Time to find civilization. Passing through Sosnovka and Zelonogorsk, I find myself some warmth, food and waters. I've still got a cold, but am doing okay at 7k health. I aggro some zombies and run for a barn picking up a Double Barrel Shotgun.
  3. I'm on the bottom floor of the Barn checking behind some stuff when I see a train of zombies running up the stairs above me. I run out and see two players above me, before they can shoot me I decide to shoot them. Lag sets in, nothings happening, I shoot them again, zombies dissappear then finally their bodies fall dead. They were ALT+F4ing. Too bad for them I was there and wasn't taking any chances having been ghosted before. One was decked out with food, Raw Meat, an M4A1 which I pick up. The other, starter gear, obviously shadowing the first guy to get kitted up. After looting these guys.... I miss the stairs down and break my Leg. Crap. I ultimately decide to crawl south back to Kamenka where I know a buddy stationed there with Morphine. this was probably an 1.5-2.0 hour crawl. Constantly checking my six and occationally killing a pig for meat to get my blood up.
  4. Several days later, buddy and I just don't get on and get my leg mended. I decide its time to risk it and look for Morphine, Heading to Chernogorsk, I check a deer stand on the way, almost killed a player except he got a free pass because he didn't see me or shoot at me and kept on moving and eventually getting frustrated that after such a long time crawling I only was about to hit Komorova, I contemplated killing myself and respawning. Probably would have been easier to do so and get kitted up exactly like I was faster. But instead I push forward.
  5. I find a bike, at which point I say screw Cherno, lets's head North where I have other buddies that can patch me up. So I ride, stopping at Green Mountain only for heartache and pain. I love how with a broken leg I can't walk, but I can climb ladders and Ride a Bike. Not really gonna argue with it. I am moving fast and I like it.
  6. Green Mountain was Heartache because there is nothing and in my crawling state I couldn't get into the tower to climb up. Pain, due to crappy buggy system, I, if i hadn't already had broken legs, would have broken legs again, but still caused some bleeding and through lag had a hell of a time patching it up.
  7. I hop back on bike and ride on, only to encounter a SERVER RESET, which made my new bike disappear. I'm thinking the bike belong to an Admin and when he saw it was gone  he manually reset the server hoping it'd go back. If that's the case, too bad for him, I saved it at the Green Mountain. So now I am crawling again. I find a cow, butcher it and replenish my cooked steaks. I see colors vibrantly again and eventually make my way to a nice spot somewhat near where my budies were last located.

  8.    This days crawl probably lasted 2-3 hours. If anything I've learned patience with this game andthough I have thought about giving up several times, I have persevered. Hopefully all this pays off and I get my legs mended soon.
Until than, later folks.

Also, thanks to my buddy Darraxus for getting me the [Reins of the Crimson Deathcharger]

A Bulleted Zombie Update

Firstly, check out these detailed posts by my buddy Darraxus.
  1. Scavenging to Survive
  2. To the End of the Road
  3. WoW and DayZ
Now that y'all are caught up to these events. After everyone logged off I kept playing. finding a night server. I decided to hit up the Hangers and Military tents. At some point actually encountered a player who was actually friendly. We went off our seperate ways. Well folks, I have something for you.

Yeah, I died. I had no backup, and it was dark, but the spawns inside those military tents were being brutal and I got overwhelmed thanks to a unlucky throw of a flare when I was trying to throw a tin can. Also, it got very laggy for me so I couldn't shoot for shit. From here, let's enter bullet mode.

Thursday Night.
  • Spawned near Cherno
  • Regeared myself with an AKS-74 Kobra  and Revolver.
  • Picked up ALICE pack and extra G17 for teammate without a pistol.
  • Back to Balota Airfield and log off just outside in some trees.
Friday Night
  • Logged in next to teammates, hooray for guessing their logoff positions correctly.
  •  Encountered unarmed survivor that wouldn't leave us alone, even after telling him to go away.
  • Shot unarmed survivor in leg to send a message.
  • Snipers took 2 of us out while messing with Military Tents.
  • Found they were Ghosting. Exploiting Douchebags. I spotted someone and as soon as they spot me his body goes limp as if dead then dissappears.
  • Immediately get fired upon by survivor but bandaged up and lived.
  • Sniper fire ceases, our two killed teammates make their way back and pick up their shit.
  • Leaving Airfield we find a tent camp, likely their for respawning. We loot it all, thank you owners.
  • Make our way north, time to move on and away fromt he coast.
  • Found a Zombie trap, a little building with a Zombie on a 10 second spawn timer.
  • I shot a teammate due to crossfire. Tis no problem, thanks to camp tent, plenty of blood bags.
  • Rubberbanding issues and barn checks, it's time to call it a night.
  • AFTER some experimentation with zeroing in on My AKM that I eventually picked up to replace the Kobra. Also replaced Revolver with M1911. I just like that gun.
  • Then watched videos on YouTube.
All in all, we lived to fight another day regardless of the Douchebag Ghost exploiting Sniper Jackwagons.
Anyways, here's what I've been finding on YouTube.

Also, check out these channels.
Acebane21: He's got some interesting videos. Not just entertaining but informational. Like his Reviews of the various weapons. Especially the Sniper ones, they help a lot with what to expect when longshotting.
EireBornFenix: Also has informational videos with images of what too look for. And it's thanks to him that I finally find a good site for Chernarus Maps @ http://southcoastbeanwars.com/day-z-maps/. I had one before but it's a huge file and is so slow to load and zoom and scroll around.

I've literally kept replaying this one a couple dozen times. I love the sigh.

A New Genre: Zombie Apocalypse Survival Simulation

It seems with the popularity of Walking Dead and DayZ that there is a new genre of videogames branching out of the normal Survival Horror. What genre you ask, Zombie Apocalypse Survival Simulation. Yeah yeah, but there are so many Zombie survival games, how is this a new genre? Simple, it's an actual representation to what a Zombie Apocalypse may be like that. It's not some arcade shoot everything with infinite ammo game.To get what Zombie Apocalypse just look at DayZ.

DayZ is AWESOME. However, it is so difficult to get into a game. It's 50% server searching, 40% playing and 10% worrying about getting disconnected everytime you see that damn broken red chain link. It's "alpha" yeah, I understand. Personally I'm thinking it's an experiment while Bohemia finishes up Arma 3 and any final DayZ release will be on that engine. Hell, i've read Rocket was moving his things to the Bohemia offices so maybe he's working with them for a full on Arma 3 engine Day Z release.

But until then, we still have a flawed but awesome game to play. But it's not the only one anymore. Here comes, The War Z. Originally being designed as a Zombie Survival MMO with quests and unlocked areas. But after DayZ they made some design changes to reflect what is making DayZ so popular and design changes that seem to be on players wish lists. Either way it'll be interesting to see how it plays and maybe even get Rocket to make DayZ even better now that their will be competition.

Check out this IGN article on The War Z.

A Punisher Fan Film

It's amazing what fans can do. Even with a limited budget. But what if someone famous is a fan and can put some money into their projects. To start there was this Concept video Mortal Kombat Rebirth that was made to pitch for a new Mortal Kombat movie. It was done with a realistic dark and gritty take. Likely taking a cue from Batman Begins and going over that dark line where Batman would not, because, well, it's Mortal Kombat

This is old news really, but nothing happened of it for a while until fans were loud enough and eventually heard, resulting in great series of web videos called Mortal Kombat Legacy. And now there is a possibility of a movie or at the very least another season of videos.

Which brings us to The Punisher. I've never seen War Zone. I didn't care much for the idea of it after having embraced Thomas Jane's portrayal. Yeah the movie had it's flaws, John Travolta and the core Origin story. But what it all boils down to is, Thomas Jane was flat out awesome as The Punisher. And he loves the character to a point... well... just check it out.

"I wanted to make a fan film for a character I've always loved and believed in - a love letter to Frank Castle & his fans. It was an incredible experience with everyone on the project throwing in their time just for the fun of it. It's been a blast to be a part of from start to finish -- we hope the friends of Frank enjoy watching it as much as we did making it." -- Thomas Jane

Here's hoping the studios see what this means to the fans and realize, that through its flaws, however few there were, there was greatness to be had with Thomas Jane's Punisher. I'm hoping for a revival. I guess in this day where reboots are such a huge thing, this may be one I'd be able to support fully without hesitation.

Also:

Also, also, if you have an hour:

Honestly, it's insane that Firefly only came back for a single movie and not revived completely.

My Transmog: Hunter

This one is gonna be a quick post. Not gonna bother with links for the moment. I'm tired and falling asleep as I type this, then I'll schedule it for the morning. Anyways, here is the Transmog set I've been working on. It's a brown color scheme going with leather hide looking outfits. Only problem there were'nt any shoulders that went well with this set. Until I saw the season 11 PvP shoulders. At which point I had to get geared up to run Twiligh dungeons. and here are the results.

Unmasked. Thinking about possibly hiding helmet.
Actually kind of goes okay with our guild tabard's current color scheme thanks to the grey in the shoulders.

A Hunter's Weekend.

There was no DayZ fun to be had this weekend. That is on hold for the time being. So what did I do then? Well, for starters, I've started watching Burn Notice on Netflix. Another show that I sometimes enjoyed the few times I caught it, but yet, never allowed myself to make time to catch it every week. As far as shows that I absolutely will watch weekly, that method belongs to How I Met Your Mother. Everything else I can wait for Netflix/Hulu or DVDs.

What about gaming? This is a gaming blog right, so what games did I play. Well, I played World of Warcraft of course. And as the title suggests, I mostly played my Hunter. Now, when I first made the decision to finally get my Hunter to 85, I had absolutely no intention of gearing him up. I just wanted to get him to a level where if I had encountered a rare tameable spawn, I'd be able to tame it.

But late one friday night I finally found a possible Transmogrification set that I'd actually be happy with for him. Only one of the pieces belongs to the season 11 PvP set and since I don't PvP, my best bet is Valor to Conquest trade. So that's it folks. I've spent my weekend first gearing him up to the point he can run the Twilight Dungeons, skipping the horrific regular set of Heroics and maxing out my weekly Valor point collection. Now all I need is to wait for the reset then I'd be ready to share my Hunter's transmog look.

Also, I manage to pick up a few rare spawns on Bradailann. My favorite being the Metal Panther from the Firelands whom I've renamed Ravage. Honestly the only truly suitable name for a metal cat.

A DayZ Fourth of July

After waking up after lunch I spent early afternoon watching DayZ videos. Afraid to play the game because we as a group decided to wait till we can all play together. So last we actually played was 4 maybe 5 days ago and I've been itching to play more and more after each video. Occasionally I would log on and check the construction building I am in for goodies. Well this time, after too much waiting I urged Kev to run through the Chernogorsk with me for a quick scavenge. We were doing alright, heading out with Hatchets, Kev found a Makarov. Then we made it to an apartment building where we found a fresh survivor. I made the call to let him live after failing to get a response in direct communication. I really do not want to be that guy that kills on sight. I have hopes for a game where players will help players. So we check the rooms and get to whatever goodies before he could. I never let him out of my sight though.

I watched as he hit the market across the street at which point I pointed out there were hatchets over there and told Kev we need to keep an eye on him. But, he never picked one up, I saw him stop at a few other loot points, but not once did he stop at the hatchets. Then he ran off, I felt it was peculiar, but decided to let it go. Next thing I know I hear a shot fire. Kev shot at someone who came around with a gun. Then more shots were fired and Kev is down. I head down stairs and see the other guy is bleeding and he shoots me, I'm down but not out. Hourglass is draining and I'm watching this guy as he is looting Kev, but sadly when I came to I finally bit the bullet after a valiant effort to hatchet him in the face.

Several questions running through my head at this point. Was it the same guy? Did he find a gun and is that why he passed on the hatchets? Did he come back to shoot us? Would he have shot us if Kev didn't shoot first? Should I just blatantly murder people because it's possible they might come back and murder us as soon as they find a weapon?

Oh well, doesn't matter. Time to start anew. We start fresh and we both spawn just outside a big city, unsure of which ones though. I'm making my way on the outskirts and after recognizing a few buildings I recognize I'm at Elecktro...whatevers. I hear gunshots in the distance and stay vigilant. Then over vent Kev is muttering about being low on ammo and zombies are still coming. Apparantly he was lucky enough to already pick up a double-barrel shotgun. But he got tagged and lost a lot of blood and is holed up in a station building that has a tower that is basically a stairwell with an attached warehouse that recognize as a power station.

As he states there was another zombie, I hear another gunshot, so I ask him if that was him firing. The whole time I been hearing his gunshots. He and I spawned on opposites sides of Elektro. Sweet, so I make my way toward the power station on the outside only to find it empty and after talking to Kev found out that he was at another one inside. Before meeting up with him I loot a supermarket picking up an ALICE pack, an M1911, an extra makarov that i throw in the ALICE pack, a Map, compass and watch. I also have a Remingtion Pump action shotgun with no ammo, yay, only because I chose it over the crossbow with 1 bolt, minus the bolt since I couldn't find it to pick it back up after shooting a zombie in the head.

After looting the market I meet up with Kev, distribute some foods and we make our way to the hospital where I administer the much needed blood transfusion he needed and pick up extra supplies. Next to the hospital is another building and I see through the window another ALICE pack. So we hit that spot only to find it unable to be picked up. I don't remember what happened first but at this point I had to shoot a zombie but we also here a gunshot. When the gunshot was fired that wasn't from me, both Kev and I shout over vent, "was that you?", and we both respond "no, not I". At which point we decide it was not safe to stick around. We figured whoever it was heard ours and was possibly making their way toward us. So we bolt and make for some trees where we dealt with a few zombies but was able to get free and eventually watch the town for player movement.

After seeing a swarm of zombies go into one building we wait a bit then hit up the supermarket, this time together. Kev picked up an ALICE pack and a Lee Enfield that he tossed in the ALICE pack for Darraxus should we meet up with him. And at this point we considered ourselves well stocked and head to Chernogorsk so we can get that Construction building where we wait once again for all three of us to log on and continue our journey. Only this time we won't just have mere Hatchets.

EDIT: HOLY WALL'O TEXT BATMAN! Fixed, had it in HTML mode and not compose. So all the breaks it looked like I was putting in in reality was not being put in.

DayZ have your attention now?

It's awesome, I don't blame you. The stories that come out of the game are amazing. Forget the movies, forget the books, play the Zombie Apocalypse for yourself and see how you fare. But first, here are some helpful resources I've found very helpful.

Index of Helpful Threads and within this index, a must view thread is the Gear/Inventory thread that explains one of the most confusing parts of this game for beginners.

A Chernarus Map is a big thing to get familiar with. There is an in game map, but you need to find it first, something i've never done yet. Some of the maps are basic while there are a few with possible loots spots and their building types. Choose what fits you.

Now, here is something from sacriel42 I wish I had found a lot earlier. A very informative Basics video. Definitely a must watch for beginners. It's nice seeing what is being done as he explains it.

Now you're familiar with the basics. Where do you go? Where is the good stuff? Let sacriel42 once again show you.

Survival at it's best.

I find myself on a beach, exposed with nothing but a Flashlight, bandage and some painkillers. I walk up a hill to get a look around and see a construction site outside an industrial city. As I make my way towards the skeleton of a building I hear a fire crackling which puts me on my tip toes. Sneaking through the building I find it's been deserted, a barrel fire left unattended surrounded with barbed wire fencing. Soda left all over, they must have left in a hurry. Their loss is my gain. I find a hatchet in the stairwell as I make my way to the rooftop to scout the city. In the middle of all these rusted earthy toned buildings I spot a clean looking white building. Could it be a hospital? Only one way to tell. But first, there is a cow and I'll soon be hungry. After severing the cows spine with my hatchet for a quick clean humane kill I cook the meat up and store it in my bags for my journey.

What Have I been up to?

Well unfortunately, not been playing games much. I've fallen back into the bad habit of falling asleep after getting home from work. Then waking up after midnight leaving me with no one else to play with. Not to mention I just picked up Big Bang Theory Seasons 1-4 on DVD so I'm finally getting around to watching the show. I've always been interested in watching the show, but just never gave myself the time to watch it on TV. I am thoroughly enjoying the show. So my routine is, get home, eat dinner, fall asleep, wake up late at night and watch Big Bang Theory. Maybe I might go back to sleep for an hour or two before work, but there has been a night or two where I just stayed up the rest of the night. Also I have been fitting in some YouTube videos about the various games I have found interest in as of late. Just last night, I've discovered a most entertaining Let's Play Minecraft done by the guys of Roosterteeth, creators of the awesome Red Vs. Blue show.

The Beginning DayZ

You wake up on a beach with just a bandage, painkillers and a flashlight in a foreign land filled with zombies. What do you do? Go!

Before my buddies joined in on the action I hopped in and had a lengthy survival round compared to the 31 minute average life expectancy as posted on http://dayzmod.com/, where I lasted about an hour and a half. Problem was, I could not find any weapons whatsoever. I made it to a small town that was littered with zombies, I said awww hell no and went into the forest. Eventually I came to a clearing where I spotted a deer stand and a few hunter zombies. I slowly made my way around the clearing several yards into the forest tree line and took the one small opportunity to check the deer stand to find it full... of ammo, but none of the weapons said ammo fits in. At that point a zombie came shambling across the ladder so I dropped prone and lay in wait, eventually when I didn't hear the zombie anymore I climbed down and booked it.

At this point I felt I had to do something substantial so I went back to that small town found a couple buildings, found them empty then holed up and took a break for dinner. After dinner I came back to still find the buildings empty and as I was leaving, ZOMBIE, and queue the train as I run and run only to be tripped up by fence. Didn't quite know how to go over small fences, so my face got eaten. I played several more rounds but none lasting as long as that first and then for the most part just waited so I can play with friends. So, for a look at what we've done so far together, check out Darraxus and his DayZ posts. I'm Fettsbounty by the way. One thing I will say, for a game that isn't non stop action like, say, CoD or Halo, it is INTENSE. Also, check out these playlists.

I want a Diamond Shotgun :(

I'm still here. I've just been, distracted, a little. Thanks Minecraft.

I've got to say is I got bit by the Minecraft bug and there's been no shaking it. I"ve died a many deaths and lost a many diamond thanks to carelessness around lava. My most painful one would be the time I had found the motherload of diamonds in a small area. After collecting it all I made a Diamond Pick and a Diamond Sword and still had 20 Diamond gems left. But it was 3:00am and I had to get to bed for work at 7:00am, but could not find my way out due to poor torch placement. I started rushing around and got to a point where I saw a lava pool that looked familiar and what looked like some blocks directly blow to drop down to. Problem is, It was just a bridge a couple squares past where I had already started dropping down to.

Folks, look before you leap. I'm telling you now, I've learned this the hard way, just because it looks like it's safe, it just might not be, and I will always remember this because of all that glorious diamond I lost. I have not found much diamond since. Anyways, that's what I've been doing. What about y'all?

Also, Check out Paulsoaresjr on YouTube as he's got a whole slew of Minecraft videos of various entertaining sorts. I've learned a lot from his Tutorials but am enjoying his other videos where he just plays through the game, some games on seperate maps. When I'm not playing Minecraft, I"m probably wathcing his videos.
Also also, he's got me interested in the DayZ mod for Arma II: CO

Uhoh. I've just Minecrafted.

Yeah, yeah, I know, it's been around, i'm late to the game, blah blah. Truth is, I tried to give it a shot some time ago but I couldn't get the game to run. Maybe it was because it was a demo of the beta or something like that. So I gave up on it. It wasn't until last night after watching Netflix on my NetfliXbox that I decided to check out the Arcade games and play the trial figuring this would be my chance to finally see what the HULLABALOO has been all about. I've gotta say, I can definitely see where the addiction comes in. It's so simple, It needs no plot, it's just, survival. You start from nothing and build your own little empire so to speak, first a shack to keep the baddies out at night. The trial doesn't last any longer than the first day and night so I couldn't get out much, but It certainly was enough to make me decide to go ahead and pick it up. Anyways, Minecraft here I come. A little something for beginners. Like me.

Save your gems! D3 + AC3 Naval Warfare

I saw this Patch 1.0.3 Design Preview a couple days ago and wanted to comment on the reduced costs of combining the Gems. So unless you absolutely need a better tiered gem, I suggest saving them up. DO NOT waste any more gold otherwise combining them just to combine them. Up until the Flawless Squares it will only take 2 gems instead of 3 and seriously reduced gold fee to combine. So I repeat, save your gems.

In other news, when first reading the title of this next video, my first thought was "It's gonna be stupid". I was expecting some crappy Tactics style game, not a fully immersed Pirates of the Caribbean style ship combat. After watching this video, I'm friggin love it. It's at

Assassin's Creed 3 Naval Warfare Gameplay - E3 2012 Sony Press

It's at 3:40 when the two ships are approaching each other and once next to each other they both unleash their cannons that along with the cheers of the crowd I was truly excited for this game. I already love the Assassin's Creed series, but now, unlike the Revelations Den Defense mini game that I didn't really care for, I am anxious to play the game. If only they would announce a Collector's Edition for the States as I would eat that up.

Then I found this Gameplay video.

Assassin's Creed III E3 Frontier Gameplay Demo [UK]

Then I found this Gameplay video which shows a great example of how they are handling the Forests for the Assassin's Creed free movement style. All I can say is...

Diablo 3 Q&A Blue Posts Galore

I'm not gonna copy and paste everything, a simple link will do, so check it out at WoW Insider beeotches.
I will however comment on a few things.

1. Quote:

Would it also be possible to add an option to completely filter out whites? I've heard arguments that it would diminish the "whoa moment" when a lot of items drop, but simpler gameplay should take priority, imo.

Yea, we agree. We are looking at adding a way to enable players to turn on an option like this in the future.

Hell yeah. I'm not as bad as a buddy of mine at this, but sometimes when clicking to move around I pick these white trash items up and it's enough. Even more so when a ton of them surround an item I want to pick up and I have to give it a second to make sure I click on the one item I want to pick up.

Development Hell

I haven't been talking much about it, but I have been playing Diablo 3 most of the time lately. As it stands, my routine after work is to log on to World of Warcraft to check mail, relist auctions and do my quick Heroic Burning Crusades Transmog run. Then it is on to Diablo 3 which for the most part has been pretty casual. My buddy Darraxus is already 60 on his Barbarian and is working through Inferno. Another buddy of mine and myself have been slowly working through Nightmare together on our Demon Hunters.

Well, this weekend we finished Nightmare with the help of Darraxus, he was bored and would hop on whenever he saw us actually playing. We also put in some time on some lower level characters. But I digress, what came next for us after we beat Diablo on Nightmare, was a break time, but not until I hopped into Hell mode to pick  up some Tome of Blacksmiths and the remaining few bars to hit the next level. It was here though, when Darraxus and I found Development Hell as one of the three dungeons in the Cemetary of the Forsaken. This place is filled with monsters that are all named after the folks who worked on the game. In here we managed to get an achievement for killing Game Director Jay Wilson. I love neat moments like these.

What it would take for me to quit World of Warcraft?

This was the title of one of WoW Insider's recent Daily Queues and it got me thinking. What exactly would it take for me to quit World of Warcraft and to the point where I wouldn't return.

Well, I actually have quit World of Warcraft for about a year or more at some point when my computer stopped working. I just got lazy about it and didn't care to do anything to fix it. It was a nice change as I actually played through the Xbox 360 games that I pick up. I actually did not miss it. I had friends constantly asking if I ever would come back, and I said, probably not. But then news about Star Wars The Old Republic  actually getting a release date pushed me to actually look at fixing my computer. And even when it was up and running again I didn't care to go back to World of Warcraft.

It wasn't until my friends from Washington came down and visited that I realized it wasn't World of Warcraft that I missed, but it was my friends. Our main communication is through Ventrilo and it was mainly World of Warcraft that we played together. After they went back to Washington I went ahead and resubscribed, barely playing any of it at all, but it was there. It wasn't till we started playing on our characters that were referred to by us as the Lowbie Group that I got back heavily into World of Warcraft.

So, after this long story, it's kind of easy to tell what it would take for me to quit World of Warcraft. My friends quitting with me. Which would mean there was something else for us all to move on to. That wasn't Star Wars The Old Republic. A game which would have had the highest chance of being the game after World of Warcraft. Except for the fact it felt too much like a single player game with no end-game for one of my Washington friends and a game whose computer the other couldn't really run. And sadly, it's a game that I wish I played more, a game that I constantly hover my mouse pointer over but never double-click on because I'd rather do something with my friends. Which at this point is World of Warcraft and Diablo 3. So until there is a game that we can all move on to together, I probably won't be quitting World of Warcraft.

OKAY! IT'S HUNTER TIME!

THE WORLD.... OF WARCRAFT has been telling me for the past couple weeks now, that I need to get my Hunter to 85. How so do you ask?
 This is how so.

Rare tameables. I've seen Ban'thalos a few times before. I'm always seeing the giant spiders doing my Firelands dailies. There is also that rare spawn Jadefang that isn't exclusively for taming but is a GREEN Shale Spider that I want because, well, I like green. I keep seeing these guys pop up. But just an hour ago while doing the fireland dailies for Cearra, I saw both of these guys. BOTH! I get it World of Warcraft, I get it, It's time I level up my hunter to 85.

Also, come Mists of Pandaria, the first alt that gets the 90 treatment will be my Hunter so I don't have to miss out on any Rare tameables like I have for Cataclysm.

Day 20 – If this was your last day playing WoW, what would you do?

Finally. This has been the longest "20 days" EVAR! Anyways, this is a quick one because truth is if I get to the point where I am quitting World of Warcraft and know for sure I won't be coming back, then there's nothing I really care to do. Only thing for me to do is, if my friends are still playing, distribute my goods. Hand out my gold and junk they can use and basically hand over our little friendly guild. I wouldn't really care to do anything else.

Day 19 – In your bags/bank

Oh my... I guess it's time to try and finish this 20 days of blogging that definitely was NOT done in 20 days.

In short, my inventory is filled with junk. Various crafting materials, sets of gear for alternate specs and transmog and odd fluff items such as holidy items, archaeology items and other random pieces that do little things. Occeleta is the worse of them all as she has been my main from the get go, is my achievement hunter and is the one I always pick up items for like from the TCG. Overall it's always been such a clutter and every now and then I have to do some serious "spring cleaning". I'm a hoarder.

Blizzard hacked you say?

I know I know, this is old news by now. 2 days is old? Well for something as big and serious as this, yeah. Diablo 3 is a new game with millions upon millions of people AT RISK. I just missed the news when it was first mentioned. But there's a good compilation of what's been going on about this over at Altos Goldish Advice.
Also, there is the IGN Daily Fix, skip to 1:10 for Blizzards word on the Hack. Still, I suggest checking out this Blue Post for what you can do to maybe sorta help protect yourself. So, sad I am adding "maybe sorta" to that based on the fact that people are reporting being hacked with Authenticators.

Anyways, with this news, I honestly feel it might not be such a great idea to jump in on the RMAH whenever they introduce it. It's bad enough that credit card information is at risk, I would not want to risk any other accounts tied to my moneys. I was thinking on passing on the RMAH anyways and wait and see how it works out.

WoW Roleplay Gear

I was just taking a look at my stats and views and  noticed I had an influx of page views following the WoW Factor Transmog event on my server. I figured it was from when I posted a comment on Disenchanting Azeroth. But after seriously looking at it all I found that  the awesome folks at WoW Roleplay Gear had given me a nod and even through my Mage on their Scarlet Crusade Alliance Follow-up post. I feel especially delighted to have been noticed and thank them for their act of awesomeness. The event was a fun time for all.

In other news, Keelhaul is retiring. Tis a shame as I just discovered him and his work through this event. I've enjoyed going back through everything he's done for the WoW community. But I just have to say good luck to him and his RL.

My Transmog: Stormwind City Guard

Yeah, I know. It's been done. This is my blog though, so if I want to share my overdone Stormwind City Gaurd Transmog set, I will. It strays slightly, but I have my reasons for doing so. Obviously we start with the Imperial Plate set.

Now, the first problem is that there are no gloves for this set. Really Blizzard? Anyways, after looking around I went with the suggestion for the [Jouster's Gauntlets]. Second problem is the Imperial Plate Belt just does not play well with this set and completely clashes, I decided to use both the [Jouster's Girdle] and [Jouster's Greaves]. This way your eyes aren't immediately drawn straight to the gloves and sort of ties the set together. Then of course there is the [Knight's Colors]. Yeah I know there's a Stormwind Tabard out there that has more detail and whatnot. I'm going with the Knight's Colors because the colors are muted and mesh better with the set as a whole and doesn't completely take over the set like the Stormwind Tabard.

All in all, there's always work to be done with sets like this that are missing clear cut winners for certain pieces. So until I find some better gloves, the Jouster pieces remain. Also, it would be nice to see a better set of shoulders. Anyways, onto the pics.

Sigh.

It may have reached double digits, but I hope it didn't. But I saw this a few times on Diablo. I've died before but this was the most frustrating of deaths. I ended up beating him, but after i spent 40k in gold to upgrade my gear and add quite a bit of Vitality. Anyways, on to Nightmare difficulty.

Diablo 3 Peak time issues.

So I've been playing pretty much all day off and on, haven't had any issues. Until about an hour ago. It's basically the peak time when everyone is off work home from school and all wanting to play. So all i can say is at least I had time in the day to get some Diablo 3 in. I got my Demon Hunter to level 16 and have so far enjoyed playing with a different set of skills than what I've gotten used to the the Beta Demo. Right now I am rolling with  the Grenades(unruned so far), Impale with the 2 second bleed, the unruned Shadow Power that allows you to absorb 20% damage as health and Vault with the rune that has you shoot while vaulting. Ya know, this is easier.

Error 37

The servers are busy at the moment. Please try again later.

You will see this a lot at this time. You have to think, there are several million players trying to log on at the same time at 12:01am PDT. I am seeing this error a lot. Then there's the tease moment where it doesn't immediately give you this error so you think you might get in, followed by Error 3006: The request has timed out.

Don't give up folks, keep trying. Also, if you get in, it might hit a slag at the character creation. At this time, DO NOT hit BACK. As it sends you to the log in screen to start all over. This is my hell. I should go to bed.

UPDATE: 50 minutes later, I've given up. Now it's time for bed. Goodnight folks and good luck.

T minus 150 minutes

Diablo 3. It's almost upon us. I got home for work today to do what i've should have done this weekend but found out that it apparantly wasn't available to do till this morning anyways. Pre-Installation. The download didn't take too long and neither did the Installation. Thankfully I had zero of the problems I've been reading others have had. Anyways, once the install was complete I was treated to a glorious but evil thing. The PLAY button was clickable. Could it be, could it be running now? No, just no. You can load up the game and watch the cinematic only to be treated with the login screen that leads nowhere. So now.... I wait.

The Wow Factor

Just hit Scarlet Crusade and I participated. I even had the chance to get valuable tips. Most of which I knew about and was in the process of getting it done, albeit very slowly thanks to some Alt leveling. But without further ado, my 2 1,000 gold prize winners are Occeleta and Cearra. Oops, time for a break.

Assassin's Creed 3

If you're living under a rock you've missed the news of a new Assassin's Creed journey now that the story of Ezio Auditore da Firenze. And this past week after a little marketing ploy which has been working for Ubisoft in the same manner they have been unlocking night/day versions of the Multiplayer maps, they have released a new game play trailer. And it's gonna be legen-... wait for it... and I hope you're not lactose intolerant because the second half of that word is DAIRY!

There's another video for the upcoming Tenacious D release next week. The Roadie. And it's getting me more and more pumped for Rize of the Fenix!

May 15 is going to be the best day EVVAAARRR!

First, as those of you should know, because Diablo III will finally be released. For those of us with the Annual Pass, it means we can start playing as soon as Blizzard says go as long as you are smart enough to pre-download the client. But no, that's not all, there's a second reason May 15 is going to be the best day EVAAARRR! It's also the day Tenacious D release their new album. I am so looking forward to more D.

Creepy Crawlers Super Oven eh?

I remember when this first came out and I just had to have one. It was awesome. And when I got it for my Birthday from my Grandparents it was the best gift ever (at the time). Only after all the goo was used up it went into the closet never to be seen again. Tis a shame too because it was SUPER!

Phosphorescent Stone Drake

Some may be thinking "Say what?" but others may know that this is a rare mount, and it's MINE, ALL MINE! In World of Warcraft there are creatures that are rare, and they drop better loot. Then there are the super rare that instead of dropping some blue gear that might be helpful but is likely just Auction House fodder, they drop something highly desired and is often camped for.

Pointless Overachiever!

I've been slacking, not losing interest in blogging, just been slacking as I've fallen into my bad habit of sleeping after work as explained in my Day 11 – Bad habits and flaws post. It's time to start posting again. One thing i've been wanting to talk about is the Diablo III Beta Demo, but since I haven't been blogging, it just hasn't happened.

Day 18 – Your favorite outfit

Part 2 of my 20 Days of Blogging catch up posts. Here's Wednesdays.

This is a two part answer for me as for the longest time my favorite outfit would be my fishing outfit featured in my Day 05 – Favorite item(s) in game post. I put this thing together and fish in it all the time. However, I recently found a nice and simplistic outfit that I transmogrified my Rogues gear into and it is AWESOME. Gear list after the jump.

Day 17 – Your favorite spot (in game or outside it)

Alright, I guess it's catch up time again. I blame Diablo III as I been playing that super late causing me to fall asleep as soon as I get home from work, when is usually when I do my blogging. Here's Tuesdays missed post.

Truth is, I don't really have any favorite spots in game. At the most I guess I can say it would be the roof of the Auction House where we hold our Dance Partys in the game. But I can say for sure outside of the game my favorite spot would be our local Mongolian BBQ Restaurant. It is the BEES KNEES!

Day 16 – Things you miss (post Cataclysm)

This is for Monday, which I missed. I know I know. SLACKER! Can you really blame me, I've got a Diablo III Beta Demo to play through and for the Achievement Hunter in me, to get all the Diablo III Beta Demo achievements.

Back to topic. Things I miss post Cataclysm... Hmmm... I don't really miss anything about World of Warcraft anymore. I'd be perfectly fine and happy playing The Old Republic though if it weren't for one thing, my friends. We got a nice group to run around with in World of Warcraft, but unfortunately the whole group didn't carry on over to The Old Republic.

So no there really isn't much of anything in World of Warcraft that I miss except my friends. Thankfully it's looking like the gang will  move on to Diablo III together, too bad the party is limited to only 4.

Sunday, April 15, 2012

DANCE PARTY!

This is just something that has become a part of our routine when in between running dungeons on our "Characters Formerly Known As Lowbies". Symbol impending, maybe. More inside after the jump.

A week off of blogging

I have been busy with my gaming that I just haven't put time into blogging. So my 20 days of blogging has taken a break this week.

Basically what had happened was the Noblegarden festivities began in World of Warcraft. This is a holiday I have been very much looking forward to on my Mage. I had already done the holiday for the Polymorph Tome: Rabbit and the bunny ears which should totally be transmogrifiable for my Green-Mohawked Gnome Mage.. But when Cataclysm rolled around and new Gnome starting quests were introduced, I deleted him and made a new clone just to get a taste. So I spent my time doing the Noblegarden for my Mage.

Day 15 – Your desktop background (on your computer) and why you chose it

And my final catch up post for Friday.

My desktop used to be one of my main character posing awesomely in Scarlet Crusade Cathedral's Water Fountain that I no longer even have ::Sad Panda::

Day 14 – This upsets you

Another quick and easy one to catch up on for Thursdays missed post.

For this I could pretty much copy  part of Day 13's post with a slight alteration.

"Players who are so damn selfish and impatient like those spoiled by the ways of Wrath content and it's chain pulling mass AoE ways  and are so obsessed with being top in the meters and wanting to kick out those who aren't and/or harass them any which way the can. Simply put anyone who is a DOOOOOUUUUCHE!"

Day 13 – People (players/bloggers) that you admire

Alright. I'm running behind on these. So it's catch up time with a simple one today which should have been Wednesdays.

Bloggers I admire are...

Day 12 – A usual day in your life/online time

First there is work. I work a 7:00-3:30 job Monday through friday. After work I basically just get home and hop on the computer and fiddle around with the Blogging or watch some Netflix for an hour or two. Then I hop onto whatever game I am playing for another hour then it is dinner then back to gaming. Or at least that's the 50/50 of my usual day. If I don't manage that routine, it's usually because I came home, hopped on the computer for an hour then took a nap for any number of hours. Weekends are up in the air. Sometimes I'm gaming till early in the morning and sleeping all day. Sometimes I'm in bed early and gaming early in the morning. Sometimes I'm out with friends with little gaming done at all.

Videos are fun.

Here are some videos that I enjoy. Yeah, some have been around a while, or most. But they are just a few that I enjoy watching again every once in a while.

Day 11 – Bad habits and flaws

Another short one unfortunately. I bite my nails and get lazy about shaving. Biggest bad habit though is my napping. I nap at odd times which interferes with my gaming and it sucks. Often times shortly after getting home from work which results in my waking up when everyone is going to bed. Then I am up till just a few hours before I need to wake for work.

Transformers Fall of Cybertron

It looks Awesome doesn't it.

APRIL FOOLS!

It's April Fools day folks. And while it's fun for the most part, the gamer inside me sometimes hates this day. It's a day where it's pointless to look for actual gaming news. Everywhere you look will be  fake news and fake announcements. Sometimes for stuff that would actually be cool to have. Sometimes the fake announcements are for stuff fans really clamor for. But I appreciate a good April Fools Day post when I see them and Blizzard is pretty good about it as are some others. Below the jump are some links to some decent ones.

I'M MUTHA FRIGGIN LEGOLAS! BOOYA!

I've been putting some of gaming time into Skyrim lately when not in World of Warcraft with friends. My character is a Wood Elf Archer with a set of daggers for melee, but I rarely ever need those. Once again, as a repeat of Oblivion, it is looking like I am going to be doing everything there is to do other than the main quest.

Day 09 – Your first blog post

Well, This isn't my first blog. So the first post here isn't really ever first blog post. But I have since deleted my first blog, but if I remember correctly, it was very similar to this blogs first post minus the history update. It was just a quick summary of why I got into blogging(http://darraxusthewarrior.blogspot.com/) and what I'd mostly be blogging about.

TH-TH-TH-THAT'S ALL FOLKS.

Day 08 – 10 things we don’t know about you

This time around when I say it's simple, I mean i'm just gonna keep it simple. No over explanations here, just a quick little bullet pointed list.
  1. I love Guinness
  2. I have Mutton Chops
  3. I love Mongolian BBQ and Hot Wings, not really at the same time. Those are usually my go to meals.
  4. I am an awesome cook, the few times I ever decide to actually cook something. I usually just pick something up.
  5. My SONICS drink order is Strawberry Dr. Pepper.
  6. I'm a sucker for Collector's Editions. Especially ones with some rather obtrusive "art" piece that I don't even have a place to display.
  7.  My mains are always the Rogue type character and I tend to play with knives in videogames. All my Modern Warfare 3 classes have throwing knives. And when not using the bow in Skyrim, I'm dual daggers.
  8.  My Starbucks drink order is Hot Peppermint White Mocha.
  9.  My favorite color is Green
  10. Finally, my favorite hat style, the ones that are above my monitor, are Fedoras.

Day 07 – The reason behind your blog’s name

This is another simple post. One that I have talked about in my introduction. But lets break this down anyways. So here you go, in an order which allows me to give background before explaining the whole thing.
But first, lets jump.

Day 06 – Your workplace/desk

Alright... I'm gonna keep this one short as there's nothing special to write home about on this one. Its a small little four foot wide desk with my monster of a computer on the floor to the left of it. The monitor/keyboard/mouse sits on the left hand side of the desk and the right side is packed with DVD's, Books and random stuff. The junk on the right is strategic so my cat doesn't have anywhere to lay down because otherwise he'd be pushing on my mouse hand making my gaming difficult.

Now the best part of this workplace is what is above my monitor on a little shelf. At least half a dozen of my hats. Awesome hats they are too. But no I am not saying anything more about that. I can use that info on another 20 Day of Blogging post. That's it folks, nothing to see here. Y'all don't have to go home, but ya can't stay here.

Oh Alliance, how sly you are.

I wasn't really planning on posting so much about World of Warcraft at this time. But it just so happened that I started blogging at the same time my group of friends got back into doing things together in the game. Currently leveling our lowbies through dungeons, and just about only dungeons thanks to Blizzard finally throwing the quest givers into the Burning Crusade and Wrath instances. Anyways, I was working on my lowbie Mages herbalism in Hillsbrad Hills and look what I found.

Day 05 – Favorite item(s) in game

When I first thought about this I was thinking "Oh hey, this is going to be a short and quick post". See, at first thought I didn't think I really had much of a favorite item in the game outside of the Red Rocket, technically named [X-51 Nether-Rocket X-TREME]. This was my first awesome rare loot card from the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game, back in the first set when I actually cared about trying to play the game. And hardly anyone ever saw it so it was definitely a conversation piece.

Area Looting. This is the BEST THING EVAR!

Its not new, and no it wasn't introduced in Star Wars The Old Republic. But because of the hype and huge draw of the game it is where a lot of people first encounter area looting. No matter where you first started area looting there is one thing in common with everyone. It's so very hard to go back to individual loot systems.

I have started playing World of Warcraft again just because our little tight knit group has been missing the social aspects of it. But it is just so painful to loot in that game. Not just for the lack of area loot, but the loot distance. Star Wars while not perfect, as somehow everyone expected it to be... <offtopicburstrage> IT'S A NEW GAME FOLKS, GIVE IT THE TIME IT DESERVES TO BE POLISHED, WORLD OF WARCRAFT HAD ITS FLAWS IN THE BEGINNING TOO YA KNOW.</offtopicrant> ... managed to get a few things such as the area loot and loot distance being higher so you don't need to be right on top of the corpse.

Anyways, it's a big deal. So big a deal it's got a video post on MMO-Champion. Check it out.

Day 04 – Your Best World of Warcraft Memory

As anyone who has put so much time into a game would know, there are just too many awesome moments and memories it's difficult to just say there is one that is best. For me there has to be maybe two memories that could share as my best memory. Both of them actually in Loch Modan.

The first was when I first rolled my Rogue as a Dwarf. I was out questing in Loch Modan with my buddy. At some point we got split up, if I recall I went to go vendor some junk and I was so excited to get several silver for the Linen Cloth I didn't care to use. Then on my way to meet back up with my buddy, This Paladin came riding up on his Horse and I was in awe. He says to me he rarely ever sees a Dwarf Rogue, then just gave me 2 gold and rode off in the horizon. I was so excited about it I quickly told my buddy and even give him half of it. It's not only that we were new and 2 gold meant a lot because we had none. But this was in a time when you would be considered well off even if you only had 20 gold.

My second memory is after both my buddy and myself had decided to start new characters. His Dwarf Hunter and my Night Elf Rogue, with whom I trekked all the way from Darnassus through the hellacious Wetlands to get to Loch Modan and level with my buddy. We picked up a friendly Priest and worked our way through the zone, eventually getting to Stonewrought Dam. We were having such a blast that when we got to the Dam, we all peered down, and I said to everyone "Let's jump!". And on a count of 3 we all jumped, I had used Sprint though and cleared out to the water, sadly the Hunter and Priest did not. Throughout the leveling process I had grouped up with the priest as we had a made our first friend with a stranger on World of Warcraft only losing touch when we Transferred Realms. But that day also marked the beginning of a trend that involves me constantly jumping and falling to my doom in World of Warcraft.

Day 03 – Your first day playing World of Warcraft

I did not get into World of Warcraft right away. I remember it coming out, and thinking yeah I might try that game, but never did. My friends talked about trying it, but never did. Then one Wednesday night, a particular episode of South Park aired and it was enough.

Day 02 – Why you decided to start a blog

Why else would anyone decide to start a blog? To express oneself. My first blog was a place where I can share my achievements and thoughts on a game I loved to play all the time, World of Warcraft. I've vented my frustrations with the game and i've recapped my accomplishments. This blog is going to be the same, only spread through out all the games I love to play, and most likely venting on how I can't get to them all. In short, it is a place where I can share my interests at the time and any moments that go with them, even if the interest is short lived due to another game or some other distractions. ::cough::Netflix::cough::

Assassin's Creed 3

Weeks old, I know. But seriously, this series is awesome. And the multiplayer is a great change from your FPS run and gun fragfests.

Day 01 – Introduce yourself

What can I say that wasn't already said here.

Mists of Pandaria

Last weekend there was a Press Event for the new World of Warcraft expansion expected this year. Well the NDA has been lifted, so head on over to check out the details.

The biggest news coming out of this is...

20 Days of Blogging.

What can I say. This is going around the World of Warcraft blogosphere and as a formerly WoW exclusive blogger. It was actually this meme that inspired me to come back to blogging. I thought it was, at the very least, an interesting way to provide inspiration and get me back in the habit. So starting Monday afternoon when I get a better chance to work on it we will see this started.
